I absolutely love cowls. They are my favourite thing to wear in the winter. When I designed my crossed cowl I wanted it to be warm and cosy with a mixture of different chunky textured stitches. I used Scheepjes Chunky Monkey yarn which is a silky Aran yarn in gorgeous shades of blue.
This cowl I called the Autumnal Cowl as I wanted it to represent all the different weather patterns of the autumn Welsh weather. So we have grey skies, heavy and light rain and just a bit of sunshine in between. I made this using the very lovely Stylecraft Bellisima DK yarn.
I designed this blanket for a very special baby called Jonah. I thought the whale applique was perfect for this blanket. I also created a matching little whale squishy to go with it. The blanket is mostly a simple granny square blanket with an ombre effect band throughout. The whale applique is then make separately and then sewn on.
I then finished the blanket with a wave border.
